8 egg whites, 2 C sugar, 3 1/2 C flour, 1 C butter, 1 C buttermilk, 1 t soda and 1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light. Add milk and flour. Add egg whites, which have been beaten until light. Add vanilla Bake in 4 layers @ 300 for 40 min. Filling Beat the egg yokes well add 1 C sugar, 1/2 C butter. Cook in double boiler, until thick, stirring constantly. After removing from stove while hot add 1 C raisins,1 wine glass of wine, 1 C nuts and 1 t vanilla.
