1 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/3 c butter
1 c brown sugar, packed
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/8 tsp maple flavoring (optional)
1/3 c coconut, chopped fine (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, add baking powder, soda and salt. Sift again. Add nuts and mix. Melt butter in sauce pan, remove from heat. Mix in sugar. Cool. Stir in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture a little at a time. Spread in 9 x 9 inch pan, sprayed with PAM. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool in pan.
