4 cups butter, softened; 4 cups sugar; 8 large egg yolks; 8 cups flour; 1/2 tsp salt; 4 cups walnuts, chopped; 2 cups cherry jam

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 2 15 x 10 jelly roll pans. Beat butter and sugar till mixed, scraping bowl with spatula. Increase speed, beating till light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks until combined; add salt and flour, mixing till blended. Stir in chopped nuts.

Divide dough into 4 equal portions; pat 1 portion into each prepared pan. Spread jam on top, then pinch off pieces of remaining dough and drop over the jam.

Bake until golden - 45-50 minutes. Cool completely, cut into bars.
