1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1.5 cup flour
1 tsp soda
3 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup chopped pecans
optional- 1 cup coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Thoroughly cream the shortening. Add the sugars. Add the beaten eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour, soda, and oatmeal. Add the pecans. Mix well. Form into rolls and wrap into wax paper and chill. Slice and place on ungreased cookie sheet. bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
