2 c. flour
4 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, and sugar. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk all at once. Stir only until dough follows fork around the bowl. Turn onto a floured surface and gently knead 14 times.

Roll 1/2 inch thick on a well floured surface. Cut into 2-3 inch circles.
Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes.
