2 1/2 cups flour
1 3/4 t. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses (not blackstrap)
1 egg
granulated sugar for rolling

Directions:
Directions:
heat oven to 350
Whisk flour, soda, spices and salt.
In another bowl, beat butter, sugar and molasses. Add the egg and beat 1 minute more.
Blend flour mixture into butter mixture until you have a soft dough.
Freeze for 30 minutes.
Shape into balls and roll in sugar.
Bake at 350 for 9-11 minutes.
