1 cup butter or fat
1 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 cups flour
2 cups oatmeal
1/4 cup sweet milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup chopped raisins or dates
1 cup chopped hickory nuts or walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar and add eggs. Mix the rest of the dry ingredients, and sprinkle over the raisins and nuts meats. Combine the mixtures, adding only enough milk to make a stiff dough. Drop on a buttered tin an inch apart. Bake in a moderately hot oven 350.
