1 head of green cabbage
1/2 lb. bacon
32 oz. container chicken broth 1 cup water
1 large chicken bouillon cube
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cut up bacon and cook in a large pot, adding chicken broth as needed so bacon does not stick. Cut up cabbage in medium size chunks and place in pot. Add remaining broth and balance of ingredients. Cook on medium high until low boil, then reduce and simmer about 1 hour. Taste as cooking and add any of the above ingredients as needed. Make sure all the liquid does not cook away.

This is a favorite southern vegetable of mine. Drew loves this when I add 1 (15 oz.) can barvarian sauerkraut (drained) while cooking.
