Ingredients:  
2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp cream
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt

Filling:
1/2 cup water
1 cup dates
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cut dates fine. Cook with sugar and water until thick. When cool add nuts. Roll dough out thin and spread filling over dough. Roll up and store in the refrigerator. Bake 350 for 12 minutes
