1 cup softened butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup very finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
in a mixer, cream butter. Add powdered sugar and vanilla in gradually and continue to cream until mixed well. Add flour and salt; cream. Add nuts and work them in with your hands. Chill dough. Make 1 inch balls and place 1 inch apart on a well greased cookie sheet . Bake 400 until slightly brown. After cookies are browned remove from pan and roll warm cookies in powdered sugar. Roll in powdered sugar gain when completely cooled. *watch carefully while they are in the oven, you want them just slightly browned.

These are my favorite holiday cookies. They simply melt in your mouth.

This recipe works well with ground pecan or walnuts. I often use a mixture of both.
