Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla well. Add flour to make a firm dough. Divide dough and roll very thin (about 1/8 inch thick). Use a round cookie cutter (about 1 1/2 inch diameter) to cut out cookies and place on a buttered cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 4-10 minutes depending on thickness (they needn't brown, just be firm). Cool on racks until cold, then roll gently in confectioner's sugar.
