1 1/3 cup Golden Crisco Shortening
1 cup white sugar
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup low fat cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cup large broken
pecan/walnut pieces
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pre heat oven to 350ºF. Combine: shortening,sugars and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute or until creamy. Add beaten eggs. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, while beating on low speed. Beat for about 1 minute or just until blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 6 to 9 cookies at a time
(placing about 3 inches apart for spreading). Bake at 350ºF for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies will still appear soft when baked,but will firm upon cooling. Cool 2 minutes, then remove to cooing rack. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
