2 1/4 cups brown sugar
4 eggs well beaten
1 1/2 cups soured evaporated milk
( to sour milk pour 1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar into a measuring cup the add the milk to make 1 1/2 cups)
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts 1 1/2 cups chopped dates
1 cup toasted flaked coconut (325degrees until brown)

Directions:
Directions:
Add sugar to eggs, beat until thick. Stir in soured evaporated milk. Blend dry ingredients, Stir in nuts, dates, and coconut. DO NOT OVER MIX. Spread dough evenly in 2 lightly greased 15 1/2x10x1 jelly roll pans Bake @ 350ºabout 20 minutes. Cool - frost and cut into bars.

Orange Butter Frosting
1# powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp grated orange peel
Beat until creamy spread on cooled bars.
