"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous
1 1/2 C milk 2 C corn meal (I use yellow) 1/2 C flour 1 egg 1 teaspoon salt 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1/4 cup bacon grease
Put grease in an 8 inch iron skillet and put in 400º oven until smoking hot. Put milk in bowl and add salt and baking powder then corn meal and flour and mix well. Pour hot grease from iron skillet into your cornmeal mixture and mix well. Pour mixture back into hot skillet and bake at 400º for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
