crust:
1 c butter
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 c flour

filling:
8 oz cream cheese
1/4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1/4 c sliced almonds(opt)

apple mixture:
5-6 apples
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and flour. Blend well. Press mixture into the bottom and 3/4 way up the sides of a 8" or 9" spring form pan.

Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Pour over crust.

Peel and slice apples. Combine with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Pour apple mixture over cheese layer. Sprinkle with almond slices. Using a spoon, push crust down on sides, even with the apples.

Bake 450 for 10 min. Reduce heat to 400 and continue cooking for another 25 min. Serve warm or at room temp. (refrigerate any remaining)
