4 cups sliced apples
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup sifted flour
1/3 cup soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
Spread in 8-inch square pan: 4 cups sliced apples.

Sprinkle with mixture of: 1/4 cup water, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. salt.

Work together until crumbly: 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup sifted flour, 1/3 cup soft butter.

Spread crumb mixture over apples. Bake uncovered at 350 for about 40 minutes.

My all time favorite family recipe. I usually double this recipe and cut back sugar to 3/4 cup for a single batch.
