4 Cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups butter
1 1/3 cups butter milk
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:





Sift flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar together. Cut 3/4 cup butter in dry mixture and cut until coarse meal. Gradually add the butter milk and mix until well blended.

Add the raisins and mix well. Divide in half and turn out on a floured board and knead. Adding flour as needed in order to handle. Shape into 2 round loaves and cut a cross shape on the top.

Bake for 1 hour at 350f. until well brown.
