2 tbsp. butter or margarine
3/4 cup chopped onion
6 cups chicken broth
1 tsp. salt
2 (10 oz.) packages frozen chopped broccoli
8 oz. fine egg noodles
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
6 cups milk
1 lb. Velvet cheese, cubed
Pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In large pot, melt butter and saute onions for about 3 minutes.

Add chicken broth and heat to boiling. Gradually add noodles and salt so mixture continues to boil, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic powder and broccoli. Cook 2 to 3 minutes longer until broccoli breaks up. Add milk, cheese and pepper and continue simmering, stirring constantly, until cheese melts.

Simmer on low until soup is heated thoroughly.
