2 Cups of Flour 4 Tsp. of Baking Powder 1 Tlbsp. Sugar 1 Tsp of Salt 4 Tlbsp Shortening 3/4 Cups of Milk 1 Egg Yolk
Sift Flour, with baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening until the mixture has the appearance of coarse corn meal. Beat Egg Yolk, add milk and knead mixture just enough to combine the egg and milk. Butter a round cake tin and spread the dough evenly in the pan. Bake 10 to 12 mins. at 400º . Cut into wedges for shortcake.
