1 Can of condencend French Onion Soup
1 1/2 # ground beef
1/2 C dry bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp and 1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 C ketsup
1 1/4 cup water
1 tbls worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 heaping tsp beef base

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine meat, 1/3 can soup, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in bowl. Shape into oval patties.
2. In skillet add 1 tbsp oil over med-high heat. Brown both sides of patties and set aside on plate. Drain off excess grease.
3. In a bowl mix remaining ingredients using wire whip. Pour into skillet and heat through. Add meat patties to skillet and cover. Cook for 20-25 minutes. If gravey begins to thicken too much add a little water.
4. If more onions are desired chop up 1/2 of onion and saute in 1 tbsp butter. Add to skillet when adding liquid ingredients.

This was a recipe I found on line and changed it a bit. It really is good salsbury steak.
