2/3 cup sugar
2 Tbsp flour (Well rounded Tablespoons)
4 large eggs or 5 small, seperated then beaten yolks
5 1/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and flour well, add beaten egg yolks and a little of the milk, mix well. Beat one minute. Add remainder of the milk. Cook until it is slightly thickened, stirring constantly. DO NOT BOIL. Add vanilla and mix well. Egg Whites: Add two tablespoons sugar to egg whites before beating them until they have stiff peaks. Pour hot float over beaten egg whites. Cut through egg whites with spoon. Serve cold.

This is Jack's Grandmother's recipe, though I have only had her daughter's (Grandma Virginia Newsom) version of it. -- Karen

This was a favorite dessert at Bray -Newsom get
togethers. Many float stories. It was hidden a lot
until some of the family left so there was more for other family members. -- Linda
