1 cup uncooked rotini pasta
3/4 pound new potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch wedges
1 cup baby-cut carrots
1 cup broccoli flowerets
1/2 cup sugar snap pea pods( I don't put these in)
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
Garlic salt or powder to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 ounces fully cooked ham, cut into thin strips

Directions:

Cook and drain pasta as directed on package.

Meanwhile, place steamer basket in 1-inch water in 3-quart saucepan (water should not touch bottom of basket). Place potatoes and carrots in basket. Cover tightly and heat to boiling; reduce heat to medium-low. Steam 5 minutes.

Add broccoli and pea pods. Cover and steam about 2 minutes longer or until potatoes are tender.

Place vegetables in medium bowl. Add butter, garlic salt or powder, parsley, dill weed and salt; toss. Add ham and pasta; toss.

Marisa picked this recipe out of a book when I asked her to find some dinners that we could make together that looked good to her. You can buy broccoli and carrots in a package that is microwave ready to cook and it happens to be just the right amount that you need. This makes it a little easier I think. I also boil the potatoes in chicken broth instead of what the recipe says. (This enables you to cook the potatoes the night before if you want.) My whole family enjoys this and it is easy.
