2-1/4 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. milk (or more as needed)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together in one bowl.
Cream shortening and sugar together in another bowl, then add beaten eggs and vanilla. After creaming these ingredients, add sifted ingredients and milk. Roll into ball, cover and refrigerate for an hour or more. Roll out and cut. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 min. Either sprinkle with sugar before baking or individual cookies can be iced with frosting of choice after baking. Makes 2-1/2 dozen.
