1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips
1/4 c. chopped almonds, toasted

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer. Add vanilla and egg yolk, mix in flour and salt. Spread mixture evenly onto a non-greased 16x12-inch baking pan and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, turning sheet from front to back after 6 minutes. Remove from oven; let rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top and let stand for 5 more minutes. Spread smooth with a spatula and top with almonds. Let sit for several hours before cutting into 2-inch squares. (Refrigerate to firm, if needed.)
