"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous
Slice 6-8 apples into buttered 1-1/2 quart baking dish. Pour 1/2 cup water and 3/4 tsp. cinnamon over them. Work together 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour and 7 Tbsp. softened butter until crumbly. Spread over apples and bake uncovered until top is brown, about 45 minutes at 350º. 8x8 size pan worked fine.
