8 oz All-purpose Flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 oz butter
2 Tbsp sugar
3 oz fruit (or mixed dried fruit)
1/2 pint milk
milk to glaze

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and baking powder into bowl. Rub in butter until mixture resembles fine bread crumbs. Stir in sugar and fruit and add enough milk to make mixture a soft dough.

Turn onto a flour surface, and knead lightly and roll out to 3/4 in. thickness. Cut into 2-in. rounds and place on a lightly floured baking tray. Brush with milk to glaze.

Bake for 10 minutes and then cool on a wire rack. Serve with butter and jam.
