1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp.salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well. Add vanilla and almond extract. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Roll into small balls; place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Grease bottom of glass and dip in sugar each time to flatten the balls. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350.
