2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 cup Shortening,
1 cup buttermilk, or you can use whole milk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl,
Cut shortening into flour with pastry cutter or fork.
When mixture looks like coarse corn meal,
Add buttermilk all at once. Mixture will be sticky.
Turn dough onto floured surface and turn once.
Do not overwork dough.
Roll or pat dough to about 1/2-in thickness and cut with biscuit cutter.
Bake at 450 until browned, about 10 to 15 minutes, or until done.
