1/4 cup butter
2 Tbs flour
2 Tbs sugar
1 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and sugar together. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add flour-sugar mixture. Stir constantly until smooth. Gradually add the cup of boiling water; stirring constantly until thickened. When ready to serve, add the vanilla. For variety use 2 tsp lemon juice in place of the vanilla.

This sauce is good over the Velvet Crumb Cake on the Bisquick box, or over vanilla pound cake.
