1/4 C Kosher salt
1 heaping tsp garlic powder
1 heaping tsp onion powder
1 heaping tsp herbs
1/4 C of dark brown sugar
1 whole chicken, bneless skinless, chicken breast with skin and bones or 4 chicken quarters

Directions:
Directions:
Place chicken in a container whith at least 2 inches under lip. Cover with water and add all ingredients. Let marinate for 24 hours.
The herb ingredient can be replaced with any other seasoning that you may like.

This is a brine that Uncle Randy gave me and he is the one that changes herbs. One idea is to add mesquite instead of the herb and then sprinkle kickin chicken spice on chicken when grilling. Also add a little olive oil. Whether I am going to grill , fry or oven bake chicken I use this birne because it makes the chicken so tender and moist. Thanks Randy for a great recipe.
