"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Sugar Cookies, by Rebecca Andrews, is from Recipe Treasures Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.

Cream shortening and sugar together; add vanilla and eggs. Stir together, cream of tartar, soda and flour. Add to creamed mixture. Roll dough on floured surface 1/2 inch thick and cut with cutters. Bake at 400 until lightly brown.
*BLUE BOOK RECIPE This was Great Grandma Griffin's recipe and makes quite a few cookies. It is my favorite sugar cookie recipe for the holidays. I love to decorate them! They will rise a bit so I roll them out a little thinner than 1/2 inch. I also use this recipe for the crust of my fruit pizza.
