1 1/2 - 2 lbs ground beef
sprinkle with salt and pepper lightly
1 lg tomato paste
1 lg can crushed tomatoes
1 pkg McCormick chili seasoning mix
3 T chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 med - lg onion diced
1 can dark red kidney beans drained and rinsed
1 tall can tomato juice

Directions:
Directions:
Brown beef and onion, sprinkle with salt and pepper, add McCormick chili seasoning mix, chili powder, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, stirring well. Add drained and rinsed kidney beans, and fill pot with tomato juice. Simmer on low covered stirring often.
If to much acid from tomatoes add 1 tsp sugar or 1 tsp vinegar to pot. Will cut down on the acidity. If to spicy add little butter to individual bowls will cut down on spice.
Can add 1 can green chili's or japleno's or other hot peppers if desired. If you like your chili thicker add 2 lg cans tomato paste.
Serve plain or with crackers, chopped green onions and shredded cheese for something a little different.
