1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 light corn syrup
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
Have at hand:
1 lump of butter
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and place sheet on folded towels (to protect your surface from heat.) In a sauce pan bring sugar and syrup to a boil. Stir frequently. Add peanuts and cook until the mixture turns yellow and smells peanutty. Remove from heat and stir in butter and soda. It will foam up, so watch your fingers! Quickly pour onto cookie sheet and spread with the back of a buttered spoon.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I've been making this recipe since I was 11 years old. Be patient while you are waiting for the peanuts and sugar syrup to "turn". It can take 7-8 minutes before you'll start asking yourself "is this the right yellow color?" When it turns it will be obvious--It will suddenly turn amber and smell strongly of peanuts. Do not allow it to burn!
