1 pkg. (16 oz) elbow macaroni
3 c (24 oz) 4% cottage cheese
1/2 c butter, cubed
1/2 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/4 tsp garlic salt
3 c half and half cream
1 c milk
4 c shredded cheddar cheese

1 c dry bread crumbs
1/4 c butter, melted

Directions:
Cook macaroni and drain. Meanwhile place cottage cheese in a food processor and cover. Process until smooth. Set aside. In a large saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt until smooth. Gradually add cream and milk. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 min or until thickened. Transfer macaroni to a large bowl. Add the cheddar cheese, cottage cheese and white sauce. Toss to coat. Transfer to a greased 13 X 9 baking dish. (Dish will be full) Combine bread crumbs and butter; sprinkle over top. Bake uncovered at 400 for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly.
