3 cups sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 can evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cocoa and salt together well and place in top of double boiler on medium heat. Add evaporated milk and begin stirring constantly. It may take 45 minutes or more to get to the softball stage. When mixture starts getting thick, test to the softball stage, by putting a tsp. of mixture in cold water. When you are to that consistency, remove from heat, and add butter, vanilla and pecans. Pour onto wax paper.
