1 c. oatmeal (quick)
1 1/2 c.boiling water
1 cube butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp.cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda

ICING:
1 c. brown sugar
1 cube butter
1/2 c. nuts
3/4 c. canned milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Soak oatmeal in boiling water for 20 minutes. Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Add beaten eggs. Add flour and seasonings which have been sifted. Mix well. Add oatmeal. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. While cake is baking make icing:

ICING:
combine butter, sugar, and milk in pan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla, nuts, and coconut. Frost cake
