1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. butter or margarine-softened
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. (6 ox.) semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375. Mix shortening , butter, sugars, egg and vanilla thoroughly.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in ungreased oblong pan, 13x19x2-inch. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.
