Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

2 1/2 tsp dry yeast
1/3 c warm water
1/4 c margarine (melted)
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1 c warm milk
4 c flour (separated)
1/2 cube butter, softened
2 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp milk

Soften yeast in warm water, set aside. Combine in mixer sugar, margarine, and salt. Beat in egg, add warm milk, stir in 2 c. flour, then yeast mixture, add remaining 2 c flour. Turn onto floured surface, knead a few times, let rest approximate 5 min. Roll out into large rectangle (1/2 inch thick), melt 2 tbsp butter and pour over dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, add raisins or chocolate chips. Roll into a log. Cut each roll by using thread or dental floss - with string under the dough crisscross cutting through the dough. Put on cookie sheet and let rise until double. Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes. Make frosting with 1/2 cube butter, softened, powdered sugar, vanilla and 2 tbsp. milk. Mix all ingredients together-adjusting the milk as needed for spreading on rolls. Frost while warm.
