1/2 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 egg
1-3/4 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
powdered sugar
large marshmallows, cut in half
colored sugar

Cream together margarine, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in egg. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Chill dough 3 hours.

Form into 1" balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Place 1/2 of a large marshmallow on the center of each cookie and bake 2 more minutes. Cool.

Frost lightly with white frosting. Drizzle with red or green frosting or sprinkle with colored sugar.
