2 1/4c. sifted flour
1tsp. baking powder
1/2tsp. baking soda
1/2tsp. salt
1c. chopped dates
1c/ chopped pecans
1/2c. maraschino cherries, chopped
3/4c. shortening
1 1/2c. sugar
2 eggs
2tbsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in dry ingredients. Add dates, nuts and cherries. Blend well and chill. Shape into small balls and roll into crushed cornflakes. Place on greased baking sheet. Press 1/2 maraschino cherry in each. Bake in 375 oven for 10 minutes.
