4 cups raw apples (peeled, chopped)
1 c. raisins or dates (chopped)
1/2 cup to 1 cup pecans
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup oleo or butter
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp soda
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt

Combine butter and sugar, add eggs and cream again. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Mix apples, raisins and nuts into mixture. Pour into greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 325F for 1 hour. Top with whipping cream or apple cake icing.

Apple Cake Icing:
1 cup sugar, 2 Tbsp flour, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 cup water, 1 Tbsp oleo, 1 tsp vanilla
Boil 3 minutes and pour over cake.
