1 c. Shortening
1 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
2 Eggs, beaten
1 c. Molasses
1 c. Buttermilk
5 c. Flour
2 tbsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp. Ginger
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix Shortening and Sugar together. Add, Eggs, Molasses and Buttermilk, mix well. In another bowl combine Flour, Baking Soda, Salt, Ginger, and Cinnamon. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Use a fork to press down. Bake 400 for 10 Minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Wanda: I made these cookies for Dad, Elmore Holland. He loved the soft cookie, always asked me to make him some. Jan: Grandma Holland made these for us and we would sneak into the cookie jar eating too many of them - - Warning - do not eat too many of them, but they are good!!
