2 1/4 cups Betty Crocker Softasilk cake mix
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup buttermilk
3 eggs
1/1/4 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
2/3 cup finely chopped pecans

Icing:

1/2 stick oleo, melted
1 ripe banana, mashed
3/4 box confectioner sugar ( use up to whole box, depending on consistency.)
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 tbsp. milk

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 9x13 pan (I use (2) 9 inch round cake pans, or (3) 8" pans. Put all ingredients into mixing bowl. Blend 1/2 minutes on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl, occasionally. put in baking pans and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool well.

Icing:

MIx all ingredients and pour over cooled cake.
