4 lb. grated carrot
1/2 gallon milk
Sugar 1 c. (to taste)
1 can (14 oz) Condensed milk
2-3 T. melted butter (ghee)
1/2 c. dry fruits (sliced almonds, pistachios, cashews and raisins)
1/2 tsp. cardamom powder
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg

Directions:
Put milk and grated carrots in a deep saucepan and bring it to boil. Add condensed milk. Cook over medium heat until all the milk gets dried up. You should stir the mixture occasionally to prevent any sticking. Add sugar, cardamom powder, 1/4 cup dry fruits and continuously stir for 5-7 minutes.
Add butter. Stir well and fry on low heat until butter starts separating. Grate some fresh nutmeg on the halwa. Decorate with remaining dry fruits and serve hot.
