1 (19.8) oz. fudge brownie mix
3 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1 (3.5 oz.) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup milk
1 can cherry pie filling
1 (12 oz.) carton Cool Whip, thawed
Optional - chocolate curls, mini chocolate morsels or maraschino cherries

Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for cake like brownies in a 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. Cool and crumble. Prepare chocolate pudding according to package directions. Chill and divide in half. Place 1/2 crumbled brownies in bottom of a 3 quart trifle bowl. Dot with 1/3 of the cherry pie filling (make sure some of the cherries show through sides of bowl) Layer with 1/2 pudding, then 1/2 Cool Whip. Repeat layers: brownies, cherries, pudding and Cook Whip. garnish with 1 or 2 of the optional items above. Chill eight hours.
