1c. butter
1c. shredded coconut
5 eggs
2 3/4c. sifted flour
1tsp. baking powder
1/4tsp. salt
1/2tsp. mace
1/2tsp. almond extract
1/2 pound candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Dredge the cherries and the coconut with 1 cup of the flour. Sift the remaining flour twice with the salt, mace and baking powder. Cream butter and extract. Gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Fold in the flour to the mixture. Add the cherries and coconut. Bake in a 9x5 inch loaf pan, lined with 3 thicknesses of heavy wax paper greasing the top layer. Bake at 300 for 1 3/4 hours.
