1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp corn syrup
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c chopped pecan

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, buttermilk, syrup, and soda. Cook slowly in a heavy pot until mixture forms a soft ball, about 20". Be sure to to use a candy thermometer (235). Remove from heat, add butter, vanilla, and pecans. Beat mixture until smooth and creamy using a wooden spoon. Drop by tbsp. onto wax paper, If it doesn't harden within 10", heat a few more minutes.
