2 1/2 tbsp yeast, active dry
2 cups half and half luke warm
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
3-4 cups white flour
1 egg whites lightly beaten
4 eggs beaten
2 cups white flour
3 tsp cardamom fresh ground

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Let Work. Mix 3 cups flour, sugar, salt, and cardamom. Heat half and half to luke warm. Mix dry ingredients with half and half, yeast and beaten eggs. Beat for 5 minutes to consistency of cake batter. Slowly mix in melted butter. Add remaining flour, or enough to make a soft dough. Knead 7 minutes and place in a greased bowl.

Cover and set in a warm place. Let rise until double in bulk, about 2 hours. Punch down and let rest for 10 minutes. Divide dough into 5 equal parts, then divide each part into three parts. Roll each part into a long rope, and braid. Lay each braided loaf onto a sprayed cookie sheet. Brush each loaf with beaten egg white. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Glaze, and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
