1 package dry yeast
1 1/2 c warm water, divided
3 c flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 large egg, lightly beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve sugar and yeast in 1/4 c warm water in a large bowl. Let stand 5 minutes. Add 1 c water, flour, salt to yeast mixture, stir until a soft dough forms. Turn out onto floured surface, knead dough until smooth, about 5 minutes (or just knead in your mixer) Place dough in large bowl. Cover and let rise 45 minutes, until doubled in size. Uncover dough and punch dough down. Cover and let rise 30 minutes, uncover dough, punch dough down, cover and let rest 10 minutes. Roll into a 14x7 inch rectangle, roll up tightly, place seam side down in a loaf pan. cover and let rise 30 minutes or until doubled in size. Preheat oven to 425 . Uncover dough, gently brush with egg, bake for 12 minutes. Reduce oven to 350, bake an additional 15 minutes.
