1/2 stick butter, softened
8 slices white bread, torn in chunks
1 lb. bulk sausage, browned
1 1/2 lbs.Colby Longhorn Cheese, grated
10 eggs
1 pint 1/2 and 1/2 cream
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 small can green chili peppers (optional) I do not use

Grease a 9 X 13 pan with the butter. Layer in the following order: bread, browned and drained sausage, grated cheese. Beat eggs, stir in 1/2 and 1/2, mustard, salt and pepper. Fold in chili peppers, and pour over layered ingredients. Place in refrigerator overnight. Preheat oven to 350, and bake approximately 50 minutes until golden and center is set.

This recipe is delicious any morning, but is good to have on Christmas since all you do is pop it in the oven. I do not use the green chili peppers.
